What is the ILoveBoobies Secret Swim
Secret Swim began at Clifton Beach in Cape Town with one small group of friends, brought together by the healing power of water and in remembrance of friends lost to breast cancer. (they are pretty Legend Gals and still lead the Atlantic Seaboard venue)
Two years ago, the ILoveBoobies Secret Swim grew to 5 venues. Last year, 18. And this year, we are incredibly proud to have 25 hostess teams across South Africa, each creating a beautiful Secret Swim experience in their own community. Our vision is for the Secret Swim to reach all corners of the earth.
Secret Swim is not a swimming race. It’s a mindful gathering of women touched by breast cancer, and the friends who stand beside them.
Spots are limited and fill quickly, so secure your place early.
We meet just after sunrise, before the world gets busy. You’ll know the area you’ve chosen, but the exact swim location stays secret until 9pm the night before, when we send you the location pin by email and message.
Why the secrecy? To protect the intimacy and sanctity of Secret Swim. For 90 minutes, we disconnect from social media, press and cell phones. No distractions. Just women, water, connection and a moment to be completely present.
Together, we honour the fighters, celebrate the survivors and supporters, and remember the sisters we’ve lost along the way.
From ocean beaches to dams and pools, women of all ages come together to swim, connect and share something very special.

After the swim, bring a picnic and a hot drink, and enjoy the good vibe.
Some ladies do coffee, some ladies do Mimosa's.
- 07:30: Registration, temporary tattoos & pre-swim selfies
- 07:45: Phone's away, its time to disconnect to connect.
- Welcome talk & safety briefing by ILoveBoobies.
- 07:50: Optional topless (from behind) group photo.
- 08:00: Dip, swim, or float a bit — your choice!
It gets sent to you at 9pm on the Friday night before the event - check your mail and messages.
Female Life Guards will be on duty, and bag-watchers will keep belongings safe.
Not a confident swimmer? A quick dip counts — this is about community, not competition.

By willingly entering this event, I acknowledge that:
- I understand the extent of the event, and its physical requirements.
- I am sufficiently trained and am in a satisfactory physical condition to undertake this event.
- I have consulted with my medical expert if I doubted my capacity.
- The risks inherent in the event, include, but are not limited to risks arising from my skill and ability as a swimmer, my nutrition and fluid intake, fitness, and health prior to and during the event, the terrain which the event traverses, weather conditions, water conditions, vehicular traffic, and the actions of other participants and the public.
- I participate solely upon my own cognizance, awareness, risk, and choice.
- I understand that my belongings I leave at the swim venue, while I swim are my own risk.
- I accordingly hereby indemnify and hold harmless ILoveBoobies za npc, to the fullest extent possible in law, against any claims occasioned as a result of my participation in the event.
- I will practice the law and health, and safety protocols as are applicable in my country.
- If I am a parent or a guardian authorizing a minor’s participation in the event, that I am duly authorized to do so, and that I bind myself jointly with the minor, to the terms, conditions and indemnity described in this document.
- I have read this document properly and confirm that I agree to and are bound by its contents. If I needed to, I did seek independent legal counsel prior to entering this event.
- All events taking place in this activation may be photographed and video recorded for the use in marketing, social media and media purposes. By entering this event you grant ILoveBoobies za npc permission to use and publish any recorded material.
- There will be an event director present, and I agree to follow their instructions.
- If the event is cancelled due to last minute inclement weather or adverse health risk conditions or similar, then I agree that the event director has sole discretion after consultation to decide as such, and that I have no effective recourse in this regard.
Definately not. You do you, what ever makes you comfortable. Some ladies do feel liberated and run squealing with delight into the water, others don't. That's cool. We will take one photo from behind with our tops down, which is a special moment.
Daughters yes and provided they can be respectful to the women who could be emotional or currently going through treatment. There will be life scars.
Some ladies go all out and dress up, but honestly this is one occasion that no-one cares what you look like or what you are wearing. There is no judging and there is an enormous sense of freedom just being you.
No, we have a strict policy of no transactions and no self promotions. This is not that kind of event. If anyone wants to gift, they are welcome. But zero trading. ILoveBoobies has a beautiful online shop and we deliver anywhere in the world.
